About the Planning Commission
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on future growth and development issues that affect the City. The Planning Commission reviews and makes recommendations to the Council on Comprehensive Plan items, redevelopment plans, changes in development regulations (known as “text changes”), requests to rezone the property, and reviews preliminary site plans, group housing plans, and subdivisions.
The Commission typically meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Meeting agendas are added to the BoardDocs agenda management portal on the Thursday before the meeting date. During the remote meeting period, all Planning Commission public meetings are broadcast live. Planning Commission meetings can be viewed on the city’s website and RTN 11. The subcommittee meetings are uploaded to the city’s YouTube page. To watch past meetings, visit our video services page.
